Steve Hewitt – Jealous Man Video & Single

Jealous Man is the dark-hued and brooding new single from British singer-songwriter Steve Hewitt. With it’s open-hearted delivery, intimate story telling and folk-roots influences, the song is the latest in a stream of releases from an independent artist exploring the dimensions of Americana, Country and Alt-Folk.
The track witnesses Hewitt embracing one of his most organic and solitary efforts to date. Clocking in at just under three minutes long, the song is unashamedly one man, his smoky baritone vocals and finger-picked acoustic guitar. The intentionally stripped-back studio production is tastefully enhanced by additional vocal lifts and violin lines from Dalma GebeJealous Man is a lyrical tale of bullying and bigotry, akin in essence to the darker minor key moments of artists such as Mark Knopfler, Johnny Cash and Ry Cooder.

The working-class troubadour hails from the English county of Kent. Steadily building his reputation over many years on the live circuit, Hewitt is well noted for his ability to reflect real life experiences through earnest lyricism, skilfully crafted melodies and genre blurring stylings. Along with festival appearances and opening stages for various artists including Newton Faulkner, Jaz Ellington, Jenn Bostic, Toploader and The Bluetones, Steve’s music has received radio play around the world. His previous and Country-laden single ‘Fly’ earned him Richer Unsigned’s ‘Artist of The Week’ spotlight and showcased him as a short listed contender for The Country Network’s (TNC) ‘Next Big Twang’ contest. Hewitt’s newest effort Jealous Man, furtherdemonstrates an authentic writer who excels with the creative freedom to be unpredictable.
Recorded by Steve Hewitt & Charlie Rivers and mixed/mastered by Rob Townley – Jealous Man will be available on digital platforms from 26th May 2023.
