Kenny’s Music, a leading retailer of musical instruments and accessories in the UK, is thrilled to announce its merger with The Guitar Trade Centre, a key player in the pre-loved and vintage guitar world. This is part of Kenny’s Music’s wider expansion plans which are being supported by an equity crowd raise on the Crowdcube platform.
Jim Ramsay, owner of The Guitar Trade Centre and a renowned expert in the vintage guitar industry, joins Kenny’s Music as Director of Pre-Owned and Vintage at Kenny’s Music and is currently transforming the lower floor of the Glasgow store into a dedicated space for vintage and pre-loved guitars, creating a flagship destination for guitar enthusiasts. This initiative is the first of several planned across all Kenny’s Music stores.
“We are extremely excited about this new direction and the opportunity to work with Jim Ramsay,” said Alex Marten, MD at Kenny’s Music. “Jim brings extensive knowledge and experience in sourcing best in class guitars from around the world. Our mission is to build the UK’s home of pre-loved music gear and Jim’s expertise will ensure an unparalleled range of instruments for all budgets and playing styles.”
Kenny’s Music’s equity raise went live on the Crowdcube platform on 20th May and surpassed the initial target of £200k within hours, securing core growth and expansion plans. The round remains open until 10th June with Alex noting that “achieving a larger raise will increase the power of the round by allowing us to accelerate plans.”
Additional funding will be used to enhance store environments, expand product ranges, and improve customer service, alongside a continued focus on the pre-loved and vintage ranges.
Kenny’s Music is looking to build a new community of shareholders, with investments starting at £10 and providing a series of exclusive perks.
