The relatively timeless world of classical guitar strings gets a minor jolt this week with the arrival of US manufacturer Augustine‘s new ‘Paragon’ Fluorocarbon treble nylon guitar strings which are now available in the UK, courtesy of distributor Barnes & Mullins.
New York based Augustine has an enviable reputation, Albert Augustine having developed the first nylon guitar strings in collaboration with guitar maestro Andrés Segovia in the mid-1940’s, since when Augustine has remained a major brand.
Augustine Paragon Fluorocarbon treble strings are paired with either Augustine Classic Red or Classic Blue bass strings to deliver a bright crisp tone with brilliant projection. They are available in Medium tension Red (gauges 0.024” – 0.0425”) which retail for £18.95 and High tension Blue (gauges 0.025” – 0.045”) which retail for £19.95 sets.
