Acoustic Review Presenter Heads To Studio For Debut Album

Acoustic Review presenter and singer-songwriter Ben Morgan-Brown has been in the studio working on tracks for his debut album due in 2021.
Sessions at Studiowz, Pembrokeshire, were originally planned for June 2020, but were put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This delay eventually revealed itself to be a blessing in disguise as, after a brief period of writers block, Ben wrote a batch of entirely new songs over the summer, many of which were captured over four days in the studio at the end of November.
Recording live in the style of, in Ben’s words, ‘a cool folk record from the 60s or 70s’, Ben worked with studio engineer and owner Owain Fleetwood Jenkins, tracking through a mixture of vintage and boutique handmade equipment, to make a truly solo record: just Ben’s voice and his acoustic guitar, with no overdubs, and with connection put ahead of perfection; the ten tracks are a window into the soul of a songwriter who, in the words of The Living Tradition magazine, “can grab your attention from the first chord”.
