US string maker GHS has added a new range of acoustic guitar strings – Thin Core Phosphor Bronze.
GHS says Thin Core Phosphor Bronze acoustic guitar strings: ‘combine low tension, superior playability with balanced tone! Wound over a round core, these strings bring a warm tone to your guitar, with plenty of clarity and definition. The low tension (due to a smaller core diameter) is a joy under the fingers, and balances nicely across the entire fretboard’.
A particular application might be for vintage guitars where, as GHS says, string tension can be a concern, but they could also be of interest to players that use a lighter touch, or for beginners.
The new strings are available in four sets, from ultra-light to medium.
