Antonio Forcione to offer July 2 day course at IGF London

Antonio Forcione, one the most impressive acoustic guitarists currently working in the UK, will teach a two day course in acoustic fingerstyle and songwriting at the IGF Guitar Summit 2019 – being held at Kings Place in London N1 on the 18th and 19th July.

Forcione will use a selection of his own compositions to demonstrate techniques including right-hand tapping, body percussion and harmonics as well as how to accompany a voice and how to arrange a cover on guitar. Antonio will also draw from his wealth of experience playing music from all corners of the globe to show students rhythmic and melodic characteristics of music from Brazil, Africa, Spain and Cuba, and how to incorporate these creatively in both composition and improvisation.

Students will be learning from a selection of Antonio’s own compositions, and as such the course is not suitable for complete beginners. It is recommended that students have some experience of finger style or flat-picking guitar playing, as well as good knowledge of open position chords and the ability to play bar chords confidently. Students can expect to be creative and there will be freedom to jam around the ideas being shown in the masterclasses.

The lessons form just one part of what promises to be a major series of guitar related events this year at the IGF.
